I have now entered the first call process. That means that I am finally almost done with seminary! It has been a long six year process, from going part-time to switching degree programs, to full on diving in head first to full-time student mode. I have loved my classes, the community that I have been a part of, and the challenging readings. But I also am looking forward to having more time.
As I begin receiving paperwork for churches, having conversations with my synod staff and pastors in the area, researching communities and neighborhoods and stalking my Zillow app, I am reminded to just lean. Lean into the process, lean away from needing control, and ultimately, lean into God. God is God, and I am not. God is God, and I am not. Though I want to be control, God is. Though I hate the unknown, I can trust that it is known by God. Though I just want to know RIGHT NOW, it will come clear in God’s time.
Do you need to lean in this time? What do you need to lean into or away from? Let’s do it together, friends. Let’s lean.
